FALL HARVEST
Celebrate the colors, textures, and traditions of the harvest season! Think pumpkins, gourds, mums, cornstalks, hay, scarecrows, apples, sunflowers, wheat, baskets, autumn foliage, farm-inspired décor, and other elements that capture the warmth and beauty of fall.
Designs may be traditional, whimsical, rustic, elegant, or imaginative. Get creative and transform your flowerpot into a display that celebrates the beauty and abundance of the Fall Harvest.

Contest proceeds support DRBI's ongoing efforts to beautify and revitalize community spaces throughout Downtown Rittman.WHY THE CHAMBER MEMBER DISCOUNT?
The Downtown Rittman Beautification Initiative (DRBI) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is no longer a committee of the Rittman Chamber of Commerce. However, the two organizations continue to collaborate on projects and initiatives that support Downtown Rittman and our local business community.
In recognition of this continued partnership—and the support Chamber members provide to our community— current Rittman Chamber of Commerce members receive a discounted entry fee for the Fall Flowerpot Decorating Contest.
🌻 CONTEST RULES
- Registration is required. Flowerpots will be assigned by the Downtown Rittman Beautification Initiative. Please do not begin decorating until you have received your flowerpot assignment.
- Businesses located directly adjacent to a participating flowerpot will receive first consideration for that location. Remaining flowerpots will be assigned based on availability and registration order.
- All displays must follow the Fall Harvest theme. Participants may use mums, pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks, hay, straw, greenery, scarecrows, apples, sunflowers, wheat, baskets, autumn foliage, decorative signs, props, and other appropriate harvest-inspired materials.
- Designs must be family-friendly and appropriate for a public downtown setting.
- Decorative signs that are part of the Fall Harvest design are permitted; however, business advertising may not be incorporated into the display. This includes business logos, promotional signage, products, advertisements, or other commercial materials. Participant recognition will be provided separately by contest organizers.
- Planting is optional. Participants may create a completely decorative display or may choose to incorporate live flowers and plants into their design.

🌱 USING LIVE PLANTS?
If you plant or add mums, flowers, or any other living plant material, you are responsible for watering and maintaining those plants for the entire duration of the contest. DRBI and the City of Rittman will not be responsible for watering or maintaining plant material added by contest participants. - Participants are responsible for maintaining their entire display throughout the contest. Wilted or dead plants and damaged, fallen, spoiled, or deteriorated decorations should be removed, replaced, or refreshed as needed so the flowerpot remains attractive throughout the contest.
- All decorations must remain within or be securely attached to the assigned flowerpot. Displays may not obstruct sidewalks, pedestrian traffic, streets, intersections, businesses, signs, or visibility.
- Flowerpots may not be permanently altered or damaged. Do not paint, drill, screw, nail, or use permanent adhesives or other materials that could damage the flowerpot.
- All decorations must be securely installed and able to withstand normal fall weather, including wind and rain.
- DRBI reserves the right to request changes to or remove any decoration that is unsafe, inappropriate, damaged, obstructive, or does not comply with the contest rules.
🏆 JUDGING & PEOPLE'S CHOICE
Entries will be judged on:
Judges will select the 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place winners.
The People's Choice Award will be selected by the public. Photos of participating flowerpots and participant names may be shared online, on social media, and on the contest website for voting and promotion.
🧹 DISPLAY REMOVAL
Flowerpots should remain decorated through the conclusion of the contest. Participants are responsible for removing all decorations and any plant material they added by the announced removal deadline.
Decorations remaining after the final removal deadline may be removed and disposed of by DRBI or the City of Rittman.

By registering for the contest, participants acknowledge that their display will be located in a public downtown area and agree to follow these contest rules and reasonable safety instructions provided by the Downtown Rittman Beautification Initiative or the City of Rittman.
