For generations, the Rittman Chamber of Commerce has brought people together around a simple idea: when our businesses and our community are stronger, Rittman is stronger.
The Beginning of the Rittman Chamber
The Rittman Chamber of Commerce was founded on November 18, 1947. The original trustees were James Wilson Frye, Christian E. Rhonemus, and Robert M. Feed.
Articles of incorporation were submitted to the State of Ohio on November 6, 1947. On November 18, 1947, Edward J. Hummel, Secretary of State, signed the articles of incorporation.
Building a Better Rittman Was the Goal From the Beginning.
The Chamber was formed to advance the commercial, industrial, civic, and general interests of Rittman and its trade area—helping make the city a better place to live and do business.
The Mission Continues.
Rittman has changed since 1947, and so has the way businesses connect with their customers and their community. But the heart of the Chamber's work remains remarkably similar.
Today, we continue to support local businesses, encourage connections, promote our community, create opportunities, and work alongside organizations and community partners that are invested in Rittman's future.
More than seven decades later, we're still working toward the same fundamental goal: a stronger business community and a stronger Rittman.
